Don't Go Another Day Without Reading These Iphone Tips!

By Amiel Nalda

The iPhone is one of the best smartphones available right now. The phone can perform standard functions that many of us have become used to, such as making phone calls and taking pictures. The phone can also do so much more if you let it. To get more from your iPhone, read the following article.

You probably already know you can set audio alerts on your iPhone. Did you realize you could have a visual alert, too? Go to Accessibility in the General section of Settings. You will see "LED Flash for Alerts." Switch that to on, and your LED light will flash when you have an alert.

Just because you're browsing the web on your iPhone, you don't have to be any less of a discriminating browser than you are on your home computer. You can check out Safari links before you open them by pressing and holding on them. This will bring up a menu that lets you copy the link or open it in a new page. More importantly, it'll show you the URL the link leads to.

Did you know that unlike many cell phones, you can assign a ringtone for each feature on your phone? Well, it is the truth! All you have to do is go to the settings, tap on the sounds feature and assign the tone. For contacts, tap on a contact and assign a ringtone to this specific entry!

Are there times you do not want your iPhone to switch from vertical display to horizontal display or the other way around? When you want to keep it from switching, you can quickly engage an orientation lock. Tap the home key twice, and then swipe left. Tap the looped arrow that appears, and that will lock your orientation.

If you have Siri on your latest generation iphone, remember that you need to speak simply, clearly and slowly. If you speak too fast, in a deep accent or mumble your words, she won't be able to understand you, and you'll end up being frustrated. Try to learn the words that she recognizes easily so that you have an easier time using her.

If you see a word in any email or note that you are unfamiliar with, just press and hold on it. Your iPhone should bring it up in the newer dictionary feature so that you can know what the word means. This function works in iBooks as well as generally online.

Consider purchasing an external battery pack for your iPhone. These can be very useful if your battery life runs low, and you are not near a charger. They can prolong the usable time that your phone offers you and makes it easier to tend to important things, like finances or emails, that many individuals use their iPhones for.

These are just a few of the wonderful things you can do with your phone. Developers are trying new things every day, so you will have even more to do in the days to come. Use the tips you've just read to really get the most from your new iPhone, and you will look like an old pro.
