High Demand For Android Development Courses

By Colin Coffey

The Android and iPhone marathon has been transpiring for quite a while now. Android devices are going from strength to strength, and the Android industry exceeded ten billion app downloads this week. The interest in classes for training android programming, in addition to python training courses for mobile application development has been positive. With the most current Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich platform now running on the Samsung Nexus smart phone, Google looks to be onto a winner. Therefore it is no surprise that Google Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt bluntly expressed that Android is leading the iPhone, at Europe's most important tech conference Le-Web in France, as documented in a Cnet.com report.

Open approach and high volume ensure success

Schmidt was quick to back up his statement with reasons why Android is positioned to soar over its Apple rival. High volume was one reason, and this is achievable with Google's open approach, which is a huge improvement from the far more controlled and walled practice that Apple is known for. He explained that application vendors inevitably look at volumes, and in this area, Google has gotten it accurate, with lots of manufacturers making Android phones available internationally. Schmidt included that regardless if distributors liked Android, they will support it and work at being the first to deliver it. Affordable prices as well as the Ice Cream Sandwich platform were furthermore stated as reasons why Android will solidify its lead.

Android - iPhone comparisons

The deliveries of Android-equipped phones are immense, with about 200 million being used and in excess of 500,000 brand new phones being activated every single day. However, iOS applications have beaten their Android counterparts to market more often than once, a complaint that was voiced by an audience member at the conference. To this, Schmidt predicted that the opposite is going to be true in approximately six months, driven to a large part by Ice Cream Sandwich. However, the iOS remains to be the foremost preference of programmers, with the likes of Evernote and Flipboard generating applications exclusively for the iPhone and not expressing whether Android versions are in the pipeline. This as well might change in the light of Google's Android invasion.

Brushing off criticism

The Android platform has been criticized as being a borrowed strategy from Apple's iOS. In the conference, Eric Schmidt disregarded this criticism proclaiming that Android was here earlier than Apple's product. Google is working hard to ensure that Android occupies the number one position, and for good reason. Although this OS is distributed without charge, it's a tool for Google to help make its services readily available essentially in people's hands. Mobile technology is flourishing, and the company's services extend beyond search, to include Google Apps, Google Maps, Gmail and Google+.

Integrated features in Ice Cream Sandwich

Schmidt is certain that all the latest fascinating applications will incorporate mobile, social and local. He said that this wasn't a gimmick but was here to stay. In this regard, Android 4.0 can certainly help the company, as it offers integrated features that allow sharing of numerous services. After all, phones are more about communication than anything else.
