3 Important Lessons About Ink

By Anthony Goetzinger

These days we all need to save money whenever we can. Very often, doing things like clipping coupons and cutting back on waste or energy consumption will save a dollar here and some cents there, which can make a huge difference for many people. For businesses and people that do a lot of home printing, saving on paper and ink cartridges will always make a significant impact. Really, it just takes a couple basic things to save a significant amount of money on ink cartridges.

When it comes to saving money on ink cartridges, the idea is to basically maximize and extend the use out of each cartridge. At the onset, it is better to purchase higher quality ink cartridges than cheap brands. The reason for this is that they are more reliable, the print quality is usually better, and they tend to last longer. In addition, their construction is often more solid, meaning they are more likely to hold up should you refill them and use them multiple times.

Buying ink cartridges in bulk is another good way to cut down on printing costs. Instead of paying a lot of money buying many ink cartridges one by one, you will save more money on each cartridge when you buy many at one time. By this, productivity is not lost and additional money is saved in not having to either travel to or receive extra deliveries from the office supply store. Furthermore, if you buy longer lasting ink cartridges in bulk, you should only have to make new purchases every once in a while.

Once again, the bottom line when it comes to saving on ink cartridges is to extend the life of each one you buy. One of the best ways to do this is to refill your ink cartridges using one of the many tools and devices that are now available. You will probably get even more refills and longer uses when you refill better quality ink cartridges. It is even possible for you to rotate between new cartridges and refilled ones if you also buy your new ink cartridges in bulk.

As you consider each of these approaches, you should be aware that most ink cartridges are designed to only be used once. So, you should at least be mindful of any possible weaknesses or other issues regarding the reused cartridges, although they will usually work perfectly well for a long time and through many uses. You may also be able to maximize your usage by finding the best combination of ink cartridge to match your particular printers and copiers. Take as much time as productivity allows and do as much research as you need to save as much money on ink cartridges as you can.
