Ipad Tips You May Not Know About

By Phyliss Calvani

No matter how old you are, you are bound to enjoy playing with an iPad. Children can use them for school and to play games, while adults can use them to do business. The iPad has nearly infinite uses. The information in this article should help you to learn about some of the unique features of your iPad, allowing you to enjoy using it all the more.

iPad's iOS supports folders now. Tap an app and hold the icon until it jiggles. Then, drag the app onto a second app and let go. Your iPad will then create a folder with both apps. The folder will show the name representing the category associated with those apps. Then you rename the folder.

Don't forget how many apps you are running at once. While you work on other things, some apps will continue running on your iPad in the background. If you want to see what else is running on your iPad, just double-click the Home button. The more you have running, the more battery you'll use, so close those you don't need. After you see what is running, close the bar by swiping downward.

Did you accidentally launch a loud app? Mute your iPad in an emergency by holding down the volume button. If you find yourself needing to mute sound frequently, you may want to set up the orientation lock button to work as a muting control.

Did you just launch a noisy app by mistake? The volume can quickly be muted by holding down the decrease volume button. If you mute often, you can set your lock orientation button as a tool to mute.

If you need Google Calendar to work with your iPad, get into your mail and then contacts followed by calendars. Select Add an Account, then tap Other. Use the Add CalDAV icon to input your information for Google. Then, get out of the settings app and tap the calender app. Your information should now be there!

You need to take good care of your iPad since it is such a big investment. Many people buy screen protectors for use with their iPads. It may seem like a flimsy piece of plastic, but it will do a good job of protecting your iPad's screen. To clean the screen, be sure to use a lightly water dampened, soft cloth. Don't use window or household cleaners on the iPad.

If you want to browse a new web page without losing track of what you were browsing before, use the tabbed browsing feature. When in Safari, tap and hold a URL to see a popup menu. You can select the option to have another tab created with the new link content.

Add extra email addresses and phone numbers to FaceTime. FaceTime will already have one of your email addresses in it (the one you used to register your device), but putting in more is a possibility. If you find more emails or things like phone numbers that FaceTime should recognize, go to the settings on your iPad and set them up.

To quickly copy and paste on an iPad, tap and hold down the desired text and then pick select. Then you will choose copy and go to another application, then press and hold again. A menu will pop up and you should tap on paste. If you have a significant amount of sentences to copy, you may have to tap multiple times.

When you first use an iPad, the possibilities are astounding. You should take the time to learn all about it if you want it to be a part of your everyday life. Use the advice from above to learn all the ins and outs of your new iPad.
