Facing The Difficulties Of Space Battles

By Rosina U. Stamm

Many space battles are usually featured in science fiction themed video games and comprise some of the most thrilling yet challenging moments in those games. Moving to the end of a game requires that you do many things; you may have to collect specific items, solve elaborate puzzles, and fight enemies who stand in the way of your character. The toughest battles in sci-fi games tend to show up at the end of long and complex missions; not every enemy will present a massive challenge to your character. This is especially true in the case of group based battles that take place in modern online games, such as massively multiplayer online role playing games, or MMORPG's.

Group focused space battles are quite different from one on one encounters since you must play a specific role in the group instead of diving head first into battle. All you have to do when fighting an enemy on your own is use your character's attacks and items properly. When you are sometimes given a computer controlled character to team up with, you will quickly notice that their attacks are not especially intuitive and that their movements are easy to predict.

If you were to use the same approach you take in single player games to the space battles found in MMORPG's, though, you would certainly get frustrated quickly. That is due to the fact that a large number of the most difficult battles require that you work in a team of up to 40 players in order to defeat the game's most challenging enemies. As opposed to forming your own approach to attacks, use of items, and general battle strategy, you have to communicate effectively with the other gamers on your team and determine how you can work together to achieve victory.

Most MMORPG's program chat windows straight into the user interface of the game so that players can always be in quick communication with other members of their teams. You can always be aware of what is going on with your team members during battle in games that have visual representations of your party members' status and let you know if you need to help them out because the enemy is coming down hard.

Getting to know your own character's abilities will make you a great teammate when working in a group to fight especially difficult space battles. You should always communicate with your group before, during, and after battles to ensure that you work as a team at all times.
