People who have achieved the expert level certifications have a two year period after the last certification, before they must recertify. The certifications at the expert level include the CCIE and CCDE certifications. Cisco expert level CCIE certifications include training in various things, such as wireless, security and collaboration.

A person who has attained Cisco certification as an architect has achieved the CCAr certification. This is the highest achievable certification offered through the educational system at Cisco. The recertification deadline for an individual of architect status is five years.

A recertification is required within a two year period, for those who have attained specialist certifications. Specialist certifications comprise a wide assortment of choices. Professionals might become specialists in video, operating system hardware, security, data center, and collaboration.
